Barrie joined 4hSolutions in 2008 offering his vast experience and knowledge of the Process Industry to promote Assettagz. In 2009 Barrie was appointed as an Associate Director of 4hSolutions.
In 2004 Barrie retired from BP after 33 years service. Barrie's responsibilities in BP involved leading procurement & technical initiatives on valves, fabricated equipment & MRO. These covered a combination of global, regional & local business activities.
Since then Barrie has been active in the market offering an Independent Consulting service to the Process Industry. Involvement has been with various end users such as Shell, BP, BASF, ExxonMobile, ChevronTexaco and SASOL. Also activities have involved valve distributors, valve manufacturers, sealing companies, foundries, forge masters, fabricators, test houses and industry magazines / publications.
Barrie's expertise covers engineering, procurement, standards, fugitive emissions, asset technology, new technology assessment, material sourcing, audits, strategic reviews, benchmarking and journalism.
Barrie is active in the international market covering Europe, North America, South Africa, Far East, China and Australia.
Barrie is a Chartered Engineer.
Barrie was awarded both the BP Global HSE Chairman's award for fugitive emission reductions & Gold Innovation Award for technical and procurement valve innovation.
Barrie is a Fellow Member of Valve World and writes regular articles for Valve World Magazine and Casting Forging News.
Barrie is also on the support group for API 622 and a member of the BVAA.
